Little Girls are made of...

Well if you are my little girl you are made of big blue eyes, imagination and attitude! Hollie Lissette may be Daddy's girl (as it should be) or "The Girl" according to Grandpa Wayne, but she is most definitely my buddy. She has always loved to dress up. I distinctly remember a solid month when she was three when all she would wear was a purple set of long johns Papa Bill gave her with a tiara and red and green leather cowboy boots. I would have to sneak into her room and get the long johns to wash them at night. Lissie loves both writing and pirates and creates entire pirate plays which she and her friends act out. Stories don't stay in the pages of her books, but instead become tangible. I can always tell what she is reading by the games she and her brothers are playing. Her enthusiasm for these wholesome innocent games is contagious with the kids around her joining in her imaginary worlds whole heartedly. She made me smile tonight. Her friends Monica and Olivia Moss are visiting from Utah. Within minutes of arriving dress up clothes were flying left and right. They went through many outfits, asking me to photograph them all. We ended up with wonderfully fun pictures but these were some my favorites especially of Lissie. Some were from a sort of Harry Potter-ish ~ pirate game they were playing. (Don't ask me, I am just the humble photographer.) The others are from their "scary hunter elves" game. I think the close up of Lis is a crazy photo, but for some reason I thought it was cool too, the way she did her makeup and just the way it turned out. Every once in a while I get an idea what she is going to look like when she is older. According to her mom who already thinks she is cute, I have the feeling that she is going to be a beautiful girl.
